U10 and up . Spread out and give a passing option . Be the first defender. Close them down
Rondo: 4v1
Set up
- Field
- Set up a small four-cone square for each group with an empty middle.
- Players
- 5 to 10 players. Use five players per group: four passers, one on each side, and one defender inside. Multiple groups can run simultaneously.
- Balls
- Use one ball for each group. The outside four keep the same ball until the defender wins it, then roles change without introducing another ball.
How it runs
- 1.The four outside players circulate the ball across the square and slide along their side to improve the passing angle.
- 2.The central defender presses and tries to touch or win the ball.
- 3.Count completed passes aloud.
- 4.The repetition ends as soon as the defender gets a touch.
After each rep
The player responsible for losing the ball becomes the defender, and the previous defender takes that outside position. Restart immediately.
How to win
Count consecutive passes; a nutmeg on the defender counts as five bonus passes.
