Defensive Pair: 2v2 Zonal

Set up

Field

Create a 60x30 yrd area with 4 gate goals. Mark a halfway line with cones.

Players

10 or more players. Play Red against Yellow. Add 2 neutral attackers in a third-colored pinnie, one on each side.

Balls

Keep spare balls behind the gate goals for quick restarts.

How it runs

1. 1.Red attacks the two goals on the right.
2. 2.In each half, the two attackers may combine with their assigned neutral to create a 3vs2 against the defenders.
3. 3.No player is allowed to cross the halfway line.
4. 4.Once the defenders move beyond that protected line, the attackers may press them.
5. 5.A1 and A2 combine with N1 to score through the gate goals, while B1 and B2 try to move the ball forward to B3 and B4, who combine with N2 to attack at the other end.

After each rep

When the ball goes over the goal line, the defenders regain possession and cannot be pressed inside the 5 yrd area in front of their goals.
