Set up

Field
Create two 12x12 yard grids with 10-12 yards of open space between them. Use cones for the grids, yellow bibs for attackers, red bibs for defenders, and several balls for quick restarts.
Players
11 or more players. Use 11 players: 7 attackers in yellow and 4 defenders in red. Put 4 attackers and 2 defenders in the first grid. Put 3 attackers and 2 defenders in the second grid.
Balls
Begin with the ball in the first grid, where the attackers have a 4v2 advantage.

How it runs

  1. 1.The 4 attackers in the first grid start in possession and use short passes and movement to take advantage of the 4v2.
  2. 2.The defenders stay inside their assigned grid and do not follow the ball into the open area between the two grids.
  3. 3.When an attacker recognizes enough space, that player dribbles out of the first grid, across the gap, and into the second.
  4. 4.As the dribbler arrives, the 3 attackers already in the second grid must move to create clear passing lanes.
  5. 5.After the dribbler connects a pass inside the second grid, that group now plays 4v2 and continues the possession.
  6. 6.The first grid is left with 3 attackers, while its defenders continue trying to regain the ball there.

After each rep

When the defenders reach 10 total wins, bring in fresh defending pairs and reset the count.

How to win

Keep a combined count of defender wins in both grids, including interceptions, tackles, and balls forced out.
