Gate Crash: 1v1
Set up
- Field
- Use an approximately 30x30 foot diamond-shaped area. Build two small gates with training sticks or cones, positioned evenly between the lines and about 30 feet apart.
- Players
- 6 or more players. Form two lines: attackers with balls in one line and defenders in the other.
- Balls
- Give each attacker a ball.
How it runs
- 1.The first attacker dribbles into the area and immediately decides which gate to attack.
- 2.The first defender steps out to prevent the attacker from dribbling through either gate.
- 3.The attacker can use feints, changes of speed, and body movement to create a way past the defender.
- 4.If one gate is well protected, the attacker is free to change direction and attack the other gate.
After each rep
Rotate players after every repetition; the first team to reach 10 points wins the round.
How to win
The attacker earns 1 point by successfully dribbling through a gate. The defender earns 1 point by winning possession or forcing the attacker away from the gates.
