U12 and up . Shoot when the goal is there . Finish the attack
Power & Finesse
Includes heading. U.S. Soccer does not allow heading for players 10 and under, and limits it for ages 11 to 13 to practice only, 15 to 20 headers a week.
Set up
- Field
- Place a cone 25 yards from goal.
- Players
- 6 or more players. Line the players up behind the cone.
- Keeper
- Yes. Put a goalkeeper in the goal.
- Balls
- Position the coach near the goal with a large supply of balls.
How it runs
- 1.The coach rolls a ball to the first player so the opening shot is taken from around the edge of the penalty area.
- 2.After that shot, the coach immediately tosses a second ball to the same player, who must finish with either a volley or a header.
- 3.A player who scores both attempts chooses another player to challenge.
- 4.The challenged player must also score both; if not, that player is eliminated.
- 5.If the challenged player makes both finishes, the original shooter is eliminated instead.
