Y Pass: One-Two Switch
Set up
- Field
- Arrange four cones in a Y shape. Place base cone #1 15 yards from center cone #2. Set top cones #3 and #4 10 yards from the center cone.
- Players
- 5 or more players. Use 5-6 players, with one player at each cone and the remaining players queued at cone #1.
- Balls
- Keep two balls in the Y to help the pattern maintain its tempo.
How it runs
- 1.Player 1 begins by passing from the base to Player 2 in the center.
- 2.Player 2 receives with the body open and plays to Player 3 at the top left.
- 3.Player 3 combines with Player 2 for a quick one-two.
- 4.After getting the return pass, Player 3 switches the ball across the Y to Player 4 on the top right.
- 5.Player 4 dribbles quickly back to cone #1 and plays the ball to the next person in line.
- 6.The next cycle again starts Player 1 to Player 2, but this time Player 2 plays to Player 4.
- 7.Player 4 completes the one-two with Player 2 and then switches the ball to Player 3.
- 8.Continue alternating the pattern from side to side.
After each rep
Rotate as follows: Player 1 moves into Player 2's spot; Player 2 moves to the opposite top cone from the one used in the combination; for example, if the pass goes to Player 3, Player 2 moves to Player 4's position while Player 3 remains.
