Set up

Field

Use a 30-yard-long by 20-yard-wide area, or half of a seven-a-side field. Put a goal on one end line.

Players

Divide the players into two teams. Both teams line up beside the coach at the end opposite the goal.

Keeper

Yes. Use a neutral goalkeeper, assistant coach, or parent in goal.

How it runs

1. 1.The first player from each team turns so the back is facing the goal.
2. 2.The coach throws a ball over the two players toward goal.
3. 3.Both players turn immediately, race for possession, and try to score.
4. 4.Continue the duel until the ball is dead because of a goal, a save, or the ball leaving the area.

The next pair steps up right away.

How to win

After one or two rounds, the team with the most goals wins.
