Description
- Setup
- Every player with a ball and five yards of space. A cone in front of each as the defender.
- Play
- Teach it in three parts. Step around the outside of the ball with one foot, plant, then push the ball away with the outside of the other foot. Walk it, then jog it, then do it at the cone and accelerate.
- Score
- Twenty clean reps each foot before anybody uses it in a game.
- Progression
- Pair up, walking defender, then a defender who actually tries.
- Harder
- Double scissor, or scissor with the weaker foot only.
- Easier
- Just the step-around, no push away, until the footwork is comfortable.
