Pressure and Cover 2v2

Description

Setup

A 20 by 25 yard channel with a small goal at one end. Two defenders start in front of the goal, two attackers start at the far end with a ball.

Play

The attackers try to score. The first defender goes to pressure the ball. The second defender drops behind and inside at an angle, close enough to help, never level with the first.

Score

Attackers score in the goal. Defenders score 2 for an interception by the covering defender, 1 for winning it any other way or forcing the ball out.

Rotate

After each turn the pairs swap roles. Four turns, then new pairs.

Harder

3v2, and the cover defender must call it before the pass is played.

Easier

The attackers must complete two passes before they can score.
