How baseball works

A practice planner for youth baseball coaches. One tap builds a full practice for your team's age group, with real drills, station cards a parent helper can run, and a link you can text to your assistant coaches. There's also a game day planner for lineups, positions by inning, and pitch counts.

Every team has a practice template for its age group: blocks like a warmup throwing block, stations, and a competition finisher. Blocks marked auto-fill get a drill chosen from the library that fits your kids' ages and that block's skills, randomized so you don't run the same drill every week. Reroll any pick you don't like, or swap in a specific drill from the library.

The training priorities per age are built on USA Baseball's player development materials (their Long-Term Athlete Development plan and Youth Baseball Skills Matrix), adapted for 45-to-90-minute rec practices. {BRAND.name} is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by USA Baseball or Little League.

Saving a drill to your favorites. Star drills you like from the library or a drill page, then use the Favorites filter to find them fast. Favorites are yours, not shared with other coaches.

The Share button on any practice sends a text summary plus a link. That link opens the full plan with every station card, no account needed, so a parent can pull it up at the field or print it.

After each game, log how many pitches each kid threw (one number each). The next game plan then shows who is eligible to pitch and who needs rest days, using Little League's published pitch count and rest tables. It's guidance to help you plan, not enforcement, and never medical advice. Always confirm your own league's rules.

Everything is editable: rename it, set the date and length, retitle blocks, change minutes, reorder, add or remove blocks, swap or remove drills. The template just gives you a strong starting point.

On your team page, pick a first practice date, how many weeks, a start time and a length, then tap Build the season. You get one dated practice per week. Each week leans on the next rung of the age ladder for your kids: catch and throw first, game play last, and no drill repeats within three weeks. Every practice stays editable. Inside any week you can change its focus and re-pick the drills, or push the rest of the season back a week after a rain-out.

Run mode is the practice on your phone, one block at a time: the diagram, a big countdown, the three things to shout, and a Next station button that starts the next clock. Prop the phone on a bucket. It stays awake while a block runs and buzzes when time is up. Esc or Back gets you out.

Builds a 45-minute practice from drills that work in a gym: no live hitting with hard balls, no long throws, no sliding. Swap and Add stay gym-safe on that practice too.

The parent or assistant running that station. Type a first name on the block and it prints on that station card, and the share text lists the helpers. Add a start time in Details and every block gets a clock time too.

After practice, pick one kid and write one line about why: a first, an effort, a moment. Print the card and hand it over at pickup. It is meant for effort and firsts, not stats, so every kid gets one over a season.

Once a game plan has positions, the team page adds up every kid's innings by spot across the season: infield, outfield, bench, pitched. It is facts only, with a note when someone has not seen the infield yet or the bench count is lopsided. You make the call.
